Reserve a computer lab
Computer classrooms and labs can be reserved for academic classes or training events. Reservations can be made for a single date or scheduled weekly throughout a semester.
Due to high demand for semester-long reservations, requests are processed in alignment with the Office of the Registrar Departmental Processing Schedule, approximately eight months in advance. We cannot accept reservations through the automated system submitted less than one week before the requested date. Requests made within one week of the desired date must be submitted via email at reserve@ics.illinois.edu.
To ensure availability, please submit semester-long requests as early as possible.
Make a reservation
All reservations must be submitted through our online system—we do not accept requests by phone or email.
To reserve a computer lab:
- Access the reservation system.
- Select “Request Courses and Sections” from the main menu.
- Submit your request for either:
- A full semester schedule.
- Individual dates as needed.
Once your request is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email when the reservation is approved. If additional information is needed, our team will contact you.
Reservation guidelines
- Lab classrooms may be reserved for up to two hours per section.
- For longer events (e.g., a six-hour conference), submit multiple sections.
- There is no limit to the number of sections per class; however, each section must have a unique name.
Cost
- Academic courses and exams: Lab classrooms may be reserved at no cost if the lab is already open. Outside of open hours, an $18/hour fee will apply.
- Training (non-commercial): Lab classrooms may be reserved for $25/hour for non-commercial training sessions intended for students or staff.
- Academic or university-affiliated conferences: Lab classrooms may be reserved for $50/hour.
