As campus comes alive again this fall, having your tech ready from day one can make a big difference. With so much happening online, from lectures and assignments to group chats and emails, it is important to start the semester feeling connected and confident. Whether you are new to Illinois or coming back for another year, Tech Points is here to help you get set up fast.
What is Tech Points?
Tech Points is a pop-up help desk hosted by Technology Services during the first week of classes. It is completely free and designed to get your Illinois accounts and campus software in order quickly. While we do not provide hardware or operating system support, we can help with setting up your email, connecting to Wi-Fi, and logging into class platforms like Canvas or Zoom.
Why stop by?
Tech problems always seem to happen at the worst times – right before class starts or when you are trying to submit an assignment. Tech Points helps rid of those issues. You will learn about campus tech resources like the Help Desk and WebStore. The staff is friendly, patient and ready to walk you through whatever you need. Whether you are setting things up for the first time or have a few lingering questions, Tech Points is a smart first stop. You can also pick up some giveaways and enjoy the activities at the booth while you are there. Bring your device, your NetID info and your questions, the team will take it from there.
